Gun Control Comes Down to What Lily Tang Williams Told David Hogg
U.S. House candidate crushes David Hogg's bogus gun control arguments in less than a minute. It's something to watch.
Sometimes, a “mic drop” moment happens because of who the speaker is, and other times because of what the speaker says. One speaker showed how both can merge in one recent video that Robby Starbuck posted on X via TheFirstTV. I think the radical left calls this “intersectionality.”
The gun control loonies insist on blaming innocent gun owners for crimes committed by armed criminals. Those loonies are also fond of releasing those violent thugs with no bail and refusing to prosecute them for those gun crimes. Peaceful gun owners are a risk only to violent criminals. Why is that so hard to understand? Because they refuse to understand it.
The Declaration recognized our God-given right to life. The Constitution’s Second Amendment acknowledges our fundamental right to self-defense to defend that life. However, we have no right to self-defense without the right to keep and bear the most practical means of self-defense—a firearm. And how do we know a personal firearm is the most practical means of self-defense? Because governments issue guns to the police. And because guns are what the criminals use against us.
Now, let’s meet Lily Tang Williams, who came from Communist China to the U.S. 28 years ago, seeking freedom, which she said she’d found. Now, she’s not so sure we’re not losing it.
Williams is a New Hampshire political candidate running for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives (NH-02). She says she’s running because she wants to, as her website describes, “fight against the communist cultural revolution here in the United States.” And she knows what a communist cultural revolution looks like—up close and personal.
She survived Communist China, is a legal immigrant, and is a naturalized American citizen. She has much to tell (teach) ignorant gun control activists. She describes coming to America: “After having gone through years of tyranny, poverty, oppression and indoctrination, I was so excited and happy I finally made it to America, ‘The Land of Free, The Home of Brave.’”
The video shows Lilly Tang Williams, at a gun control event in New Hampshire, confronting the supremely ingratiating, media-chasing anti-self-defense, gun-control nut David Hogg. When given a chance to speak, she smacks him with the verbal equivalent of a pie in the face.
First, Williams recaps Mao’s murderous, intentional starvation of 40 million Chinese people. Then, she says, during the Cultural Revolution, he murdered 20 million more. Finally, she asks Hogg, “Can you guarantee me, a gun owner, tonight, [that] our government in the U.S., in D.C., will never, never become a tyrannical government?”
Hogg’s answer is surprisingly honest. “There’s no way I can ever guarantee that any government will not be tyrannical.” Then I realized he was truthful but, likely, only for a political reason. The radical leftie has to leave room for the left’s mythology that a potential Trump government will be tyrannical.

Williams says, “Well, then the debate on gun control is over because I will never give up my guns. Never! Never! And you should go to China to see how gun control works for the dictatorship of the CCP.”
Williams crushes Hogg’s gun control arguments, and she does it in less than a minute.
To emphasize William’s point about gun control in China, as reported by J. William Middendorf at The Daily Signal, Mao said, “All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. The Communist Party must command all the guns; that way, no guns can ever be used to command the party.” [emphasis added]
Compare Mao’s chilling diktat with the United States and Thomas Jefferson’s inspiring words. “Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed….” [emphasis added] Our third President also said, “The Constitution of most of our states (and of the United States) assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed.”
Talk about polar opposites, one defining tyranny and the other liberty. I’m not sure about you ordinary Democrats, but I’ll side with liberty anytime.
As explained by Middendorf, starting in 1937, Mao disarmed the population as he took control of the various provinces. In 1949, after seizing absolute control of his new Communist China, the dictator’s first action was to disarm all the people. How did he do it? By condemning those who resisted to execution, prison, or forced starvation.
The Daily Signal’s article title states that it was only “After the Guns Were Removed, [that] the Killing Fields Began.” This brings up another quote from Jefferson: “What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms.”
You can’t see Hogg in the video at the time, but I believe it’s Hogg who’s laughing at Williams. Aside from his cynical view of self-defense and Americans’ right to life, this disrespect shows a refusal to think critically about an issue he believes he’s an expert on. Her comments weren’t funny; they were dreadfully serious and true, as history confirms.
Did Hogg cavalierly laugh off a human being who escaped a brutal tyranny, who’d just provided him with an empirical firsthand account of how a tyrannical government can dominate and control an unarmed population? It sounded like it. And, it’s within his demonstrated lack of character to do, so… there’s that.
Lily Tang Williams understands this country’s significance in history and its importance to the world. She is exactly the type of legal immigrant America wants and needs to join us in the battle to reclaim our lost freedoms, such as with the Second Amendment.
